The back nine is set among giant oaks and gently flowing creeks. Always in very good shape, Indigo Creek is a tremendous value. An Arnold Palmer signature course, King's North is one of the top-rated courses in the country. By moving over 400,000 cubic yards of dirt, adding 7,000 azaleas and 600 hardwood trees, enlarging lakes, bunkers and greens, and planting new "Crenshaw" bent grass greens, Palmer created what many believe to be the finest course on the Grand Strand-The front and back nines have been reversed, so the island green is now the 12th hole. The 18th hole, nicknamed "The Bull's-eye" by Golf Magazine, has over 40 sand traps guarding either side of the fairway, and the green reaches out into a lake offering a number of very tempting pin placements. River Club features water on 15 of 18 holes, and over 100 sand traps and bunkers. Accuracy on the approach shot is key to shooting a good score. The dramatic par-5, 18th is unquestionably one of the finest finishing holes on the Grand Strand. Blackmoor is one of the most unique courses on the east coast. This Gary Player masterpiece features elevation changes and several blind approach shots. Willbrook Plantation is charming Dan Maples design that winds through two former Carolina rice plantations. The course features lush oak forests, attractive lakes, and scenic wetlands. The par 5's at Willbrook Plantation offer tremendous risk/reward opportunities for the golfer daring to reach the green in two. The greens were rebuilt with Champions Bermuda. The recent upgrades to the tee boxes and drainage have made a very good course even better. With fairways lined by ancient oak trees on the former site of a Carolina rice plantation, Litchfield Country Club will give you the feeling of a classic lowcountry private club.
