With these three courses, it's no surprise we call this one the "Most Scenic Package." The East Course at The Pearl has been a favorite among visitors to the Grand Strand for year. Located on the banks of the Calabash River just north of the North Carolina/South Carolina State Line, this course is as picturesque as it is challenging. Rated 4 Stars in the Golf Digest Places to Play Guide, Pearl East stretches nearly 6,800 yards from the tips. Don't be distracted by the amazing waterway views because mature trees, strategically placed bunkers, and treacherous water hazards will punish any wayward shots. This is truly a shot-makers course that rewards accuracy more than length. Tree-lined non-parallel fairways winding through hardwoods and pines offer a sense of seclusion on this outstanding course designed by Dan Maples. The three finishing holes will rival any in the Carolinas and will keep you coming back for years. Just watch out for the alligators! River's Edge Golf Club (www.river18.com) is an Arnold Palmer Signature Course. The course gets its name from its location on the Shallotte River. For scenic beauty, River's Edge is hard to top. The signature hole of River's Edge is the par 5, 570 yard 9th hole. The right side of the fairway is lined with trees and the river runs the entire length of the left side of the hole and cuts through the fairway about 200 yards from the green. The green is on a peninsula that juts out into the river. Tempted to go for the green in two? Just ask Arnie... he hit two balls in the water trying to reach in two! Carolina National Golf Club (www.carolinanationalgolf.com), rounds out this magnificent pairing. This 27-hole Freddie Couples Signature Course features some of the most scenic holes in the Carolinas. Natural wetlands and tree-lined fairways define the three nine-hole tracks (Egret, Ibis, and Heron). The signature hole, the 203-yard par 3 fifth hole on the Heron Course has to be seen to be believed. Golfers must carry a marsh to a peninsula green guarded on three sides by bunkers. This package offers exactly what golfers come to coastal Carolina to for: river and marsh views, plenty of wildlife, and three perfect days of golf. Just don't forget to bring your camera.
