Your lodging will consist of a deluxe 2-bedroom golf villa in nearby Sandpiper Bay. At Sea Trail Resort (www.seatrailgolf.com) , you'll play courses designed by Rees Jones, Willard Byrd, and Dan Maples. The Maples course has recently reopened after undergoing a 6-month facelift. Bermuda greens were replaced with A-1 bent grass, bunkers were renovated, and fairways were improved. All courses offer scenic views of the Calabash River, which winds its way through the resort, and all feature ancient oak trees dripping with Spanish moss. The Jones Course recently hosted a local qualifier for the U.S. Open and lives up to the reputation that the Jones family has established. The Maples course has A-1 bent grass greens and a number of typical Dan Maples touches, including waste areas running the length of many fairways. The Byrd Course offers generous fairways, but smaller greens, making it a shot-makers course. This package offers quality golf, great accommodations, convenient location, and terrific value.
